exhausted

>>It has been a long time since I have come home from work and gotten into bed at 7. This happened a lot last year when I was learning and long term subbing. This happened again yesterday. A student of mine got suspended. I was not involved and it was mostly because I explained to the VP that he needs the kind of consequences that other students get. This student knows better. He is aware that his actions have consequences and he also knows how to use the system to get out of these consequences. We are trying to teach him it's not fair to manipulate people that are here to help you in order to get what you want. It was still exhausting to deal with.

In other good news, yesterday afternoon I took two of my 8th graders and there mom's to view the high school. It was so informative for everyone involved I loved it. I saw one of my kiddos from last year doing metal welding class! which made me beyond ecstatic. The class seems like a good fit for my kiddos. I learned that I am being saved a BUNCH of time with doing IEPS at the end of the year. and the teacher seems really great. Plus, I love being in the loop! I love that now I can answer high school questions for my families next year. I am now informed with how it works and that was my favorite part.

>>Lots of things have been going well. I have been told by numerous people/parents how happy they are with me. That makes me feel good. I work hard. and its nice to be recognized. I had a billion other things to say, but since I havent blogged much this week they have all been forgotten because my brain cannot hold much information. haha.
